Programme Purpose

This programme offers learners the opportunity to achieve one or more components towards the NFQ Level 4 Certificate in General Learning . Further details about the programme e.g. Duration, Location etc are available on this register and from the provider, Community Radio Forum of Ireland (CRAOL)

Duration Description

The programme is part time and delivered typically over 10 weeks (ie less than 3 months). The total programme duration is 150 hours. This comprises of 50 directed hours and 100 hours of self directed learning. The 50 directed hours comprise of 30 hours of class contact time and 20 hours of work-based direction and assessment where the tutor is present. The 100 self directed hours are drawn from a blend of practice time, opportunities to sit in on programme-making team meetings at the station (separate to the formal, supervised work based direction/assessment - 20 hrs above), preparation, learner led research, listening, study & reflection time . The programme is designed to be delivered to a range of learner profiles and in different contexts. The standard duration is 10 sessions of 3 hours each with an additional 20 hours of work-based direction. These to be tailored to the needs and availability of learners over the course duration and to be allocated to learners' practice and tutor-supervised creation of assessment material.
