Title
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Computing and Information Technology
Programme Purpose
This four-year IT and Computing degree programme is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to thrive in the fast-evolving digital landscape. Built around key thematic pillars—Data & Data Science, Programming & Maths, Web, General IT & Software Development, Soft Skills, and Networking & Cybersecurity—the curriculum follows a structured spiral approach. This ensures that students progressively gain a deeper understanding across core areas while developing strong problem-solving and professional skills. The programme blends theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience, preparing graduates for diverse roles in software development, cybersecurity, data analytics, cloud computing, and IT infrastructure management. Students engage in foundational modules, before advancing to specialised topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and DevOps. The programme culminates in a capstone project, providing an opportunity for specialisation, independent research and/or industry-focused application. Graduates will be well-positioned for employment in the IT sector or for further studies at Level 9. Embedded exit awards at Stage 2 (Higher Certificate in Computing and IT) and Stage 3 (BSc in Computing and IT) allow learners to receive recognised qualifications if they choose to exit from the programme early.
