Certificate in Social Enterprise and Entrepreneurship

Programme Purpose

The programme aims to develop foundational managerial competencies specific to the Charity sector while offering a pathway to further education for senior management roles. This programme will facilitate learners in developing a body of skills and knowledge enabling them to grow more easily into general or senior management positions. Of most importance, these programmes are designed to build managerial capacity and effectiveness in the Charity sector in Ireland. The Certificate in Social Enterprise and Entrepreneurship is an applied programme, aimed at supporting managers in Irish non-profit organisations who are looking to diversify their business model or individuals from any environment that wish to establish a social enterprise. Additionally, this programme offers learners in the non-profit sector the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills and competencies in entrepreneurship, innovation and product/programme development which are applicable to the broader managerial competency set. In this respect, the Certificate creates further opportunities for the non-profit sector to improve general management competencies, especially around the development of new ideas and programmes.
